Although several OSS and commercial tools for data augmentation exist, few address multiple modalities and/or include transformations that represent content found in the real world. To address this gap, Facebook research has released AugLy, a data augmentation library that supports audio, image, text, and video. Each sub-library for each modality includes function-based and class-based transforms, composition operators, and tools to adjust the intensity of the transform applied. In addition, AugLy includes data augmentations that mimic content users generate in real life – for example, making an image into a meme or posting screenshots from social media.
