Although new tools make it easier for data practitioners to transmit raw data to databases and warehouses and transform data within these systems, many data teams still struggle to transform low-quality behavioral data into data models that can support rigorous and flexible analysis. To address this problem, Objective has released an OSS suite of tools to support higher-quality event collection, validation, and analysis. The project centers on an open analytics taxonomy that classifies common event types and contexts (identified through conversations with 50+ companies). The taxonomy is designed to ensure that collected data is suitable for analysis and does not require extensive cleaning or preparation. The project also includes a tracking SDK that validates all incoming events against this taxonomy and an open model hub to support downstream use cases like product analytics and ML-driven prediction.
