Most companies use logs, including to understand application behavior and diagnose issues when they occur- but managing logs at scale and in compliance with various regulations can be overwhelmingly difficult for many data and developer teams. As such, detailed examples of logging infrastructure at other web-scale companies are often instructive. Here, Kartik Deshpande describes how WePay aggregates, processes/enriches, and buffers/ingests logs. He also reviews how WePay stores logs (in Elastic, BigQuery, and GCS) and searches logs with Kibana.
