Welcoming Renee Shah, Amplify’s Newest Investor

By Sunil Dhaliwal

I am excited to share the news that Renee Shah has joined Amplify’s investing team as a Principal focusing on our core investment themes in AI, machine learning, and intelligent applications. As our team got to know Renee over the past months it became clear that she has the ideal combination of intellect, curiosity, and authenticity to make an impact in our industry; so we had to have her on our team.

Renee comes to us from Google where she was a core member of the emerging products and solutions team working on machine learning projects for e-commerce applications. In her time at Google, she helped drive the of launch Shoppable Images, a computer vision product for retail and brand marketers. Renee also spent her “20 percent time” on the Waymo team where she helped launch their 3D LIDAR sensor business for the autonomous vehicle, drone, and robotics markets.

Renee could not be joining Amplify at a better time. We believe that the power of intelligent software and robotics is at the heart of the digital and physical transformations happening all around us. Amplify is seeing amazing innovation on a daily basis from insightful students, talented engineers, and seasoned operators. Moreover, we are seeing these technical founders use their expertise to pursue opportunities up and down the stack, from infrastructure to applications, and to reshape markets that are broader and deeper than ever before.

Renee is already hard at work developing new investment ideas and identifying outstanding entrepreneurs through her unique lens as a talented product leader. Since partnering with early-stage teams is at the heart of the Amplify mission, she will also be deeply involved in helping our portfolio recruit top talent, find product-market fit, and drive breakout growth.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Renee on our team and can’t wait to see the impact she will have on our industry. Feel free to drop her a note at renee[at]amplifypartners.com or @reneeshah123 if you’d like to wish her welcome, riff on machine intelligence, or talk startups.
