To facilitate the development of an ecosystem of website and applications built on interactive blocks (like Notion or WordPress), HASH has OSS’ed the Block Protocol. The Block Protocol facilitates the development of blocks that can be easily integrated into web, desktop, and mobile applications and can be automatically used across a wide range of contexts. Developers can use these blocks (which will also be available through a global registry) to build new applications or extend existing applications with rich functionality and to pass structured data (contained within each block) between applications. The Block Protocol achieves these goals by providing a set of guidelines for writing blocks that render, create, update, and delete data in a predictable way.
