For several years, data practitioners have opined on the limitations of Jupyter notebooks while continuing to embrace the literate programming paradigm (whereby programming and documentation languages are combined to make code more portable, reproducible, and maintainable). To create a more reactive literate programming experience, Alexander (Sasha) Rush created Streambook. This proof of concept applies streamlit, jupytext, and watchdog to enable users to edit python code in any editor, see the literate output in the browser, and instantly ship the result as a notebook.
